Rescuing a Patient

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:

The Emergency Medical Technician - Advanced course prepares the student to provide more in-depth assessment and care for patients of all ages with a variety of medical conditions and traumatic injuries. Areas of study include a fundamental concept, advanced airway management, advanced pharmacology with medication administration including initiation of intravenous and intraosseous access. The student will attend 214 hours of clinical experience in a hospital setting and in a field setting

THE STUDENT MUST COMPLETE:

  • All courses are taught in sequence and each student must successfully complete each course with a minimum of 70% to complete the program

  • Achieve 70% lab participation 

  • 214 hours of clinical experience

 

MINIMUM PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS FOR CONCENTRATION COURSE OBJECTIVES:

​To prepare competent advanced emergency medical technicians in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains.

LECTURE COURSES:

Fundamental Concepts for the Advanced EMT

Medication Administration & Pharmacology for the AEMT

Shock and Trauma for the AEMT

Medical Emergencies for the AEMT

Special Complex and Pediatric Patient Considerations for the AEMT

Clinical Experience

COST OF THE PROGRAM: $2,400.00

Tuition: $1,900.00

Books & Supplies: $400.00

Application Fee: $100.00

Cost of Books & Supplies as well as the Application Fee are due upon enrollment.  

Payment plans are available for the full tuition amount.

Schedule A: Mondays & Tuesdays

8:30 am - 3:30 pm

Length of the Program: 15 weeks

Schedule B: Wednesdays & Thursdays

8:30 am - 3:30 pm

Length of the Program: 15 weeks

REQUIREMENTS TO ENROLL:​

  • Provide copy of their current government issued picture ID

  • Provide copy of their valid social security card

  • Provide high school diploma or transcripts

  • To be eligible for the Advanced EMT course, the applicant must have successfully completed a Basic EMT course and hold EMT National Registry or be a Licensed EMT
